End Time Prophecies Of Daniel
This article will show how accurate the prophecies of Daniel were and are concerning the end time prophecies. Daniel's prophecies concerning Jesus were all fulfilled accurately and on time with the prophecy. The fulfillment of the old testament prophecies are direct proof (if you need it) that Jesus is the Messiah. These are the most important prophecies in the bible because they lay out in great detail the first and second coming of Jesus.

Daniel's 70 week Prophecy-  Daniel 9:24:  "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy."If we count 70 weeks (70 years of 7 years,70x7) we get 490 years for the total transgression to take place. However, we must consider that 7 years are reserved for the time allotted at the end (Tribulation).

How Does 70 weeks equal 490 years- We find in the bible several places where days are years and weeks are 7 yearsLeviticus 25:8: "And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years." (7x7=49)It is important to understand how the bible uses dates so that we can interpret bible prophecy.  Ezekiel 4:4-6: 'Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity. (5) For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. (6) And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year." In Ezekiel we read that each day has been appointed for a year when dealing with the iniquity of Israel.

Daniel's 69 Weeks (483 years)-  So we will try to figure out the first 69 weeks of 7 years (69 years of 7 years 69x7) equals 483 years. 483 years of Daniel's Prophecies happened in succession, beginning with the rebuilding of Jerusalem to the coming of the Messiah (Jesus). The best way to figure out the math of the 483 years of Daniel's prophecy is to subtract 483 years from the rebuilding of the 2nd temple ("the holy city") (Year 516 BC.), to the crucifixion of Jesus ("end of sins"). Jesus was 33 years old when he rode in on the donkey and was crucified, so that makes 33 A.D.  (NOTE: AD. started at the Birth of Jesus, not the Death of Jesus. AD. does not mean After Death, it stands for Anno Domini) So we will take 483 years (Daniel's 69 weeks) and subtract from 516BC (Rebuilding of the 2nd Temple) 483-516BC.= 33 AD (Death Of Jesus and the end of Sin) . Daniel 9:25 is a key part in this prophecy because in order for Jesus to ride into the holy city and fulfill the prophecy, the second temple had to be rebuilt. After the building of the second temple, the 69 week countdown begins and amazingly we find that Daniel predicted  the exact year that Jesus would put an end to sin (death on the cross).  Daniel 9:25: "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times." God has had a plan from the begining and bible prophecy confirms that His plans are perfect. (Note) Daniel was an old testament writer (prophet) who was given these visions well before they took place.

7 year Peace Treaty-  Daniel 9:27: "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." Daniel 9:27 is a reference to Daniel's final (70th) week of his 70 week prophecy. "he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week." The antiChrist is confirming a peace treaty with Israel for 7 years. (A.k.a. the 7 Year Tribulation) In the middle of this 7 year peace treaty (31/2 years), the antiChrist is going to break the peace accord and claim to be God. This is an important prophecy relating to today because we see Israel being forced into a false peace treaty with the Palestinians. This could very well be the peace accord Daniel was referring to. The Church age is currently under a grace period in which Jesus has allotted from the beginning. Jesus does not want anyone to go to hell, therefore he extended the church age so we may all be saved. 2 Peter 3:9: "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Time of Trouble-  Daniel 12:1-3: "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. (2) And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (3) And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." The "Time of Trouble"; as described by Daniel, is a direct reference to the 7 year tribulation". Daniel is warning people about the  End of Time.

NOTE: The " Time of Trouble" and "Jacob's Trouble" are two separate events. The "Time of Trouble" is the Great Tribulation that will engulf the whole world, while "Jacob's Trouble" results in the culmination of the Jews returning to their land.

Peter 1:20,21: "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
